A dream destination of the aspiring designers and a design institute with the massive international scope is how you can describe the National Institute of Design of India in a few words. In a real sense, it is an international standard educational organization. Candidates from all parts of the globe consider themselves fortunate enough to have the privilege of getting admission over there. Since the courses have the latest methodologies and techniques, the demand for the courses is in high demand. Therefore, it is needless to say that cracking the entrance test is not an easy deal.
You have to fulfill the NID Application Form 2020 to get into the campus as a student. Four types of courses are here, Graduate Diploma, Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy in Designing). The Graduate Diploma and Bachelors are 4 years of regular classroom courses. You have to either pass or appear in higher secondary examination or 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board of education, such as ICSE, CBSE or others to apply.
The application mode is online. You need to visit the website of NID and fill in the application form correctly. The basic NID Application Form 2020 is to qualify the two aptitude tests, DAT Prelims, and DAT Mains.
The handbook for B.Des (Bachelors in Design) and GDPD (Graduate Diploma Program in Design) provides the weightage of Prelims and Mains are 70% and 30% respectively.
The admit card will be sent to the candidates via registered email id where the date, time, and venue of the Stage 1 test will be mentioned.
Stage 1: DAT Prelims is the first stage. The test is conducted all over the country in various test centers on the same day and time. The test duration is 3 hours, and it consists of 100 marks altogether.
Stage 2: The shortlisted candidates will get a call for the next stage of the DAT Mains in any of the institute premises in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Haryana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. Your test center will be mentioned in the admit card for the Mains examination. It is also a 100 marks test and will take at most 3 days to complete.
Both of these tests are done to evaluate the understanding, proficiency, and behavioral abilities of the applicant and the combined result is considered as the NID admission criteria.
Those who will qualify Mains after Prelims will be invited to attend the counseling as the next section of NID Application Form 2020.
