In past years I had many sinusitis attacks, and it was not unusual for Breathe Green Charcoal Bag Review me to have several sinus infections in any given year. It would start with a tickle in my throat, and about a week later I would have a full blown sinus infection. I was given antibiotics to combat these attacks just about every time. Subsequently I learned that taking too many antibiotics was a bad thing because bacteria could become resistant, so I tried to avoid them as much as I could.

I was desperate to get some relief from my seemingly constant sinus problems, so I eventually had two sinus surgeries. Why two, you might ask. The reason for the second operation is that the first one was not effective, and I kept having the same problems. All that pain I went through, and there was a lot of it, was for nothing. It is not unusual for people to have multiple sinus surgeries. The fact of the matter is that they don't work most of the time. Oftentimes if they do provide some relief it is only temporary. Each person's sinus issues are at least slightly different from everyone else, so treating sinusitis effectively for many people is very difficult. Some patients respond well to the standard treatments, but many don't. I was one of the latter group.

I was very disappointed after my second surgery when I started coming down with sinus infections again. I had gone through surgery to get rid of these problems, but that obviously didn't happen. I kept reading books on the subject and learned about pulsating nasal irrigation. Basically you just use a little machine and clean out your nasal passages with a saline solution in water. This procedure worked wonders for me, and I have been able to eliminate 90-95% of my sinus infections. I do use some medications as well, such as a nasal spray each night. If I feel like an infection is coming on I will also take a little prednisone, but I try to keep this to a bare minimum because of possible side effects.

At the beginning of the winter this year I could tell a sinus infection was trying to take hold, and I began my normal self treatment regimen. I did have a slight infection. I had to blow my nose continuously and the mucus was on the thick side and a bit cloudy. It was not yellow, but it was not normal either. There were no sinus headaches, and I was able to work and function normally, so it was not too bad at all. After about a week it went away and I was normal again.
